G&A Advocates LLP was ranked at the same level with leading law firms including TrippleOKLaw and ENS Africa (NBMA Advocates) among others as testament that the mid-size boutique law firm which has offices in Nairobi and Eldoret (where it started) has come of age.
G&A Advocates LLP is an established full service law firm that was founded in the year 2006 under the name of Gumbo & Associates. The firm transitioned to a limited liability partnership in February 2017 and was renamed as G&A Advocates LLP.

The firm acted for one of the state corporations in relation to a claim presented against the state corporation by a downstream affiliate of one of the multinational oil and gas companies where the value of the subject matter was in excess of US$ 45 Million.
In the power sector, the firm represented a leading electric power producer in a ground breaking transaction for a project valued around USD 6.5 million between it and the Djibouti Office of Geothermal Energy Development (ODDEG) for drilling of three geothermal wells in Djibouti.
In infrastructure and especially the Public Private Partnership space, the firm is currently part of a team that is advising and representing one of the energy sector state corporations in relation to a claim filed before the Public-Private Partnership Petitions Committee over a project valued in excess of US$ 320 Million.
The firm’s Managing Partner Mr. Eric Gumbo is one of Kenya’s leading Dispute Resolution and Commercial lawyers and has successfully handled numerous highly sensitive matters including as lead counsel in the recent BBI Appeal and acting in three (3) presidential petitions of behalf of IEBC. He serves as the lead counsel in the finance and corporate transactions.
He has completed specialized training programs on Financial Markets from Yale University, Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya Branch) and Fintech Law and Policy from Duke University. Currently he is undertaking a course in Green Business strategy from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Eric has extensive experience in corporate Governance and currently serves as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Legal Aid Centre for Eldoret (LACE), a Council Member representing the Law Society of Kenya in the Council for Legal Education (C.L.E) and as a Board Member of the Kenya Re-Insurance Company Limited (Kenya Re), a public listed company. Recently, he was a member of the panel appointed by the President to recruit the Auditor General for the Republic of Kenya.
